My Neighbor

My Neighbor is designed to meet urgent or emergency needs for children, youth and families experiencing foster care. Real time, verified needs are submitted, and we reach out to our network of community supporters to fill the need as quickly as possible.

Foster Parents’ Night Out

Foster Parents’ Night Out gives foster parents the opportunity to enjoy a date night, get some errands done, or simply put their feet up for a few hours. Trained and verified volunteers organize engaging activities for the kids, while providing a safe and fun environment.

Explore Fostering

Stepping into foster care is a significant decision. We’re here to walk you through this journey. Explore Fostering is an opportunity to ask questions, hear from experienced caregivers, and learn more about becoming a certified foster parent.

Box Program

There are a few different ways we make use of the Box Program. It can be used to provide basic necessities to children who are entering the foster care system. It can also provide basic necessities to teenagers who are aging out of the foster care system. Finally, it can be to provide families with fun items to facilitate familial bonding.

Laundry Ninjas

You know how big of a hassle laundry can be. We have a team of ninjas who pick up dirty laundry from foster families and bring it back clean and folded. This program is a great way to get involved and volunteer with REACH Northwest.

Peer Mentoring

Peer Mentorship offers a unique space for supportive conversations while facilitating guided discussions between an experienced foster parent and a newer foster parent. Mentors and mentees who complete the 12 week mentorship program will receive 15 hours of continuing education hours.

Trauma-Responsive Training

Children impacted by foster care have experienced varying levels of trauma, causing behaviors that can be challenging to understand. We help provide foster parents with the tools to build trust and create a safe and loving environment for the children in their care.

Foster Family Community Events

Community events gives foster families the ability to connect with one another and see they’re not alone. It’s a safe environment, filled with fun for the whole family.
